EXTRICATION ON I-64
JUNE 15, 2008- 3 ENGINES, 1 UTILITY FROM
LFD AND 1 ENGINE FROM FAIRLEA
RESPONDED TO A SINGLE CAR ROLLOVER
WITH ENTRAPMENT NEAR THE 164mm. A
SINGLE OCCUPANT WAS EXTRICATED AND
FLOWN TO ROANOKE BY HEALTHNET
FROM THE SCENE
MVC WITH INJURY
Aug 2, 2008- One patient was transported to
GVMC after a collision on Caldwell Hill. Both
vehicles sustained major damage. E-11
responded as well as a unit from Fairlea FD
and three ambulances from GCEAS.
MUDDY CREEK MOUNTAIN FIRE
Nov 11, 2008- LFD was dispatched to a flu
fire at residence, the first in engine reported
heavy smoke. The fire had extended into an
attic space then into an upstairs bedroom.
The engine crew made entry through an
upstairs window and quickly extinguished the
fire.2 engines and 1 tanker responded from
LFD. Fairlea provided AMA with 1 engine
and 1 tanker.
CAR VS DEER
Nov 25, 2008- LFD responded to a single
vehicle MVC where a car had struck a
deer near entrance to Greenbrier Valley
Airport. The vehicle sustained major
damage.
MVC ON HARPER RD
Nov 30,2008- No injuries occurred in a
late night MVC on Harper Rd. The vehicle
left the roadway and struck a fence.
Several boards impaled the vehicle. The
driver was the only occupant.
COLLISION ON STONEHOUSE RD
Jan 8, 2009- Two vehicles collided on
Stonehouse Rd. No injuries occurred in the
incident. The roadway was completely
blocked until vehicles could be removed.
ROLLOVER ON I-64
Jan 12, 2009- Two patient were
transported to GVMC after their vehicle
rolled over coming to a rest on its top
near the 168mm of I-64. LFD closed down
the westbound left lane until vehicle was
removed.
DOH FIRE
Jan 12, 2009- LFD responded to an early
morning vehicle fire at the WVDOH
garage. An apparent electrical
malfunction caused a fire in the cab of the
truck.
2 EXTRICATED ON 219
Jan 16, 2009- The driver of this vehicle was
airlifted by Healthnet V after being extricated
from his vehicle. The passenger was
transported by Fairlea EMS to GVMC. 1
engine and 1 utility responded from LFD,
FFD provided AMA with 1 rescue engine.
UNIT 2029
June 2009- The Lewisburg Fire Department
took delivery of a 2009 Ford F-550 utility
truck. It has a 180gpm pump supplied by a
300 gallon on-board water tank.
HazMat Training
LFD Technical Services HazMat unit
participated in a weekend training exercise
with the WVRRT and the Army CST.
HazMat Team Deployment
LFDs HazMat team assisted the
Ronceverte Police and Fire
Departments in the investigation of a
possible Meth lab.
